I'm the founder and interior designer at Roxana Rahaman Design based in Shepperton, Surrey, and I help create homes that bring joy and belonging to homeowners.
Each project I take on gets my full attention, from start to finish. That’s the advantage of working with a small studio. When you work with me, you work with me.
I don't have a signature style, and I believe that's entirely the point. It’s about you, not me. I care about the mix: how things sit together, what they say about the person who lives there, and whether it all feels considered and carefully chosen. Not contrived or made for someone else.
I’m not interested in handing you a design that looks like everyone else's. I love a home where the elements sit beautifully together without perfectly matching. Embrace the random! I believe this will always make a space feel welcoming and more relaxed.
For this reason I'm drawn to vintage markets, independent suppliers, the high street, and the occasional splurge - often all in the same room.
My approach is led by you, and the bones of your home. The outcome is to make it feel more alive and joyful.

My history
I came to interior design after 18+ years in marketing. A career I fell into, allowed me to work for some great companies, grew to love, until I realised I wanted a change. What brought me to the world of interior design was something much simpler: an unexpected, ongoing enjoyment of ‘doing up’ my own home. The satisfaction of a freshly painted room, which is where the majority of my time is taken up! The thrill of a vintage rug found online that magically pulls an entire space together. The realisation that how you live in your home really matters, and that I wanted to help other people feel that too.
So I retrained. I completed a Level 3 Diploma in Professional Interior Design and I haven't looked back.
Why my background matters
Eighteen years in marketing taught me things that make me, I think, a better designer. I know how to really listen and how to spot the gap between what someone says they want and what they actually mean, culminating in a truly authentic design brief. I've led countless projects - big and small -worked with amazing people, managed creative teams, worked to tight timelines, pivoted a million times (!), found endless solutions and delivered brilliant collective work. And I kept the customer at the heart of every decision, always asking is this best for them?
I understand that true collaboration is how you will achieve something special. All of my experience translates directly. I like to ask questions. I’m down to earth. I won't over-complicate things. I'll be clear about what I'm doing and why. I'll cut through the muddle and get it done. And, we’ll always have fun along the way!
