Design services

Designing your home can feel overwhelming - you don’t know where to start, there’s so much information out there, you lack confidence and knowledge and you’re worried about getting it wrong.

My role as an interior designer is to remove that fear and ambiguity and give you confidence. I put you at the heart of the project, and we have fun along the way!

I work with you to discover which package suits your individual project. Please note there may be adaptations to the offer and price once I have a clearer idea of your project’s needs. This will be discussed and agreed to beforehand.

Design process

  • This is all about getting to know you - the listening phase.

In our virtual or in person meeting, we run through the pre-consultation questionnaire (to be sent out before the meeting).

I will ask further questions, weave out the unknown and help to identify the design outcome.

Your budget and timelines are captured at this point.

A post consultation report will be sent to you for ‘A fresh perspective’ which includes some of the ‘Develop’ and ‘Design’ items listed.

Or, a design brief will be sent to you for ‘The full design’. The design brief captures the outline of the project - scope, objectives and goals - and requires your approval to move to the ‘Design’ stage. This document is the reference point for both parties to ensure we stay on brief.

  • This is the start of the creative process which involves:

In depth research for ideas and inspiration.

Conceptual (abstract) development through imagery and words, including the colour palette.

Presenting the concept board back to you and ensuring you have a clear understanding of the design direction to move onto the next stage.

  • The start of the design process where I will share design work in stages:

Real images for the ‘look and feel’ mood board.

A scaled room plan with furniture layout.

A scaled floor plan with lighting and electrics, if added on to a package.

Source samples, fabrics, furniture and fixtures to bring the conceptual idea to life, including physical samples sent to you.

A design visual with the key items specified.

    Finish schedule for trades.

Source and procure key Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FFE) items.

Gain final design approval and sign off.

Every project is slightly different so there may be adaptations to the design process once we’ve discussed yours further. Steps and options listed below will vary depending on the package chosen.

Frequently asked questions

  • As with anything, what you choose to spend your money on is entirely your business and up to you! Everyone places different values on different things. Designing a space/home that works for you where you feel at home, where it’s personal, a reflection of you and delivers what you need is the outcome of working with an Interior Designer. I will bring to life your vision and cut through all the overwhelm and clutter to define and design your space with you, hand and hand, so that you don’t have to do it alone. Do it right once and you won’t need to keep spending your money and time not quite getting it right. Honestly, it can be game and life changing.

  • Absolutely! I love mixing old and new - it’s feels more curated and thoughtful. And it’s environmentally friendly and sustainable. You don’t have to buy everything new to achieve your dream space. Let me know what you would prefer to keep and , if possible, I will see how it can work into the design.

  • This is up to you. It depends on how busy you are and really, if you like getting involved in the detail. My job is to make you feel comfortable and I can work with you however you prefer. Some people like to be involved whereas others trust me to look after everything. But, the final design always requires client sign off.

  • This can vary from project to project and factors such as the size of space, how many spaces, how much you’re looking to change, if you have tradespeople booked in etc, can affect timelines. However, this will always be discussed with you so you feel informed and comfortable.

  • ‘A design refresh’ service is an online only offer (sometimes called E-Design), with an online consultation and the final design report delivered via email.

‘The full design’ is, ideally, an in person service, depending on your location. However, depending on the project, it may be possible to offer this remotely. Please reach out if you have any questions on this.

  • The 15 minute discovery call has no charge.

The full fee for ‘A fresh perspective’ is payable before the consultation.

The £150 consultation fee for ‘The full design’ is payable before the consultation. There will be a payment schedule aligned to the design stages and it will be agreed to between the designer and the client in the contract before any work begins.

  • Procuring (finding and buying) items for your home can be all consuming, stressful and seemingly endless. My procurement service for Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) - movable items that are not permanently attached to a building and equips or furnishes the space as intended - takes that off your hands, leaving you stress-free.

I share my trade discounts in full which can result in quite a saving overall!

The number of items to be procured is subject to the brief and design.

My procurement fee is 10% of the recommended retail price (RRP), plus any applicable delivery or other charge, for each FF&E item sourced by me, and is invoiced separately. Payment of every item is payable by you to me before the order is placed.

  • Room measurements and photos will be provided by you (I will provide guidance).

For ‘The full design’, I may add to these measurements and photos during the at home consultation or in a separate visit, if necessary.

  • Support is provided as part of each service and in relation to the final design only.

Changes or amendments required to the final design post handover are charged at an hourly rate.

  • Additional services can be discussed as part of the discovery call. If you would like to add one after our consultation, this can be done as well.

Any additional service is additional to the package rate and charged at an hourly rate.
